Gas Motorsports Celica

The Celica is the latest addition to the formidable GAS Motorsports line-up. In its first competetition (Jamboree 17) Joe pedalled it to victory, claiming the fastest ET and Pro Turbo class winner, earning GAS the title of 2006-2007 series champions.

At a recent test and tune at WSID, the Celica ran its fastest pass so far, a blistering 6.68 @ 212 MPH - the quickest and fastest Sport Compact pass in Australian history! With a string of back-to-back sub-7 second runs, things are looking good for the GAS team's assault on the upcoming Jamboree 18 (Aug 23-24 2008).

The Celica runs a stroked 2JZ, punching out over 2000hp at more than 50psi (check out the dyno run below!). A GFB EX50 wastegate helps Joe leave the line at exactly the right boost pressure.

Gary Halpin's Datto 1200

Gary Halpin, owner/manager of Gary Halpin Racing, is the proud owner of this 1973 Datsun 1200 coupe. Powered by one of Toyota's finest, the mighty 2JZ, the little Datto is a capable and reliable 8 second car, having run a PB of 8.9 @ 151mph.

Gary uses a GFB SV45 racing blow-off valve to protect the turbo, and a GFB EX50 wastegate teamed with a GFB Atomic boost controller to keep the boost in check.

Chris DeJager's 2008 DA "Drift Weapon"

Chris has finally retired his trusty R33 drift car that has served him so well in the 2006 and 2007 seasons of the top-level Drift Australia series. In place of the Skyline are a pair of S14s, built to drift from the ground up.

The new cars are lighter and faster than his outgoing ride, and once dialed in should take Chris to new heights. GFB is behind Chris once again for the '08 series, and we wish him all the best.

Gas Motorsports - "GAS 2JZ"

Not one to let the grass grow under his feet, Joe Signorelli has backed up his success on the drag strip (with his 6-second 2JZ powered Camry) with a potent Supra, built as a demo vehicle to showcase the considerable expertise and workmanship of GAS Motorsport.

The Supra pulls no punches, stomping out 1090 rear wheel hp at a screaming 10,000RPM. This mind-bending power comes courtesy of the massive Garrett GT47/88 turbo which crams air into the 2JZ at 45psi - all without the use of nitrous! Note that no fancy EBC is used here; boost is regulated by the venerable GFB Atomic boost controller, which Joe praises for its reliability and capability on such an engine.

Also from the GFB stable is the blow-off valve, a huge capacity SV45, which is regularly and repeatedly exposed to the onslaught of massive amounts of air every time the loud pedal is tickled.

This is the most powerful 2JZ in Australia , which is no idle claim. Joe is prepared to back up this statement and take on anyone who wants to challenge him.

Chris DeJager's Drift Australia R33 Drifter

Go Fast Bits are proud to introduce Chris DeJager's GFB-backed Skyline drifter.

Chris only began drifting in January 2005, though despite being a relative beginner at the sport, managed to finish 6th in the Full Lock drift series in '05. Chris' successes are even more astounding when you consider that his track outings thus far were undertaken on an extremely modest budget and in a full-weight, rego'd road car!

Chris stepped up to the highly competitive Toyo Drift Australia national championship series in 2006, finishing 15th in a field of tought competition. For the 2007 DA series Chris has further developed and fine-tuned the car in an effort to improve upon last year's result.

With GFB backing him all the way as the major sponsor (and with a much more capable race car under him), Chris put on a good show in the '07 season. Unfortunately, hydraulic handbrake problems plagued him in the early rounds (see the video of DeJager vs Pickering), and a turbo failure in QLD cut short his weekend.

However, throughout the season Chris has been consistently known as the guy with the HUGE corner entries! So impressive are the entries, he qualified 3rd at the Oran Park final round as the tail of the R33 sat mere millimeters from the concrete pit wall going into turn 1. Chris finished 13th overall for the 2007 season, and will be back next year ready for more action!

GFS Performance '07 STi

The crew at GFS Performance bought this brand-new MY07 STi in February 2007 as a project car to showcase their company's work. Not just a static display, this STi sees regular track work at events such as Supersprints and hill climbs - starting from when the car had barely 2000km on the clock!

Among the first modifications were a GFB WRX Hybrid blow off valve, 6-speed short-throw shifter and a 3-piece lightweight pulley kit.

Additional performance modifications have been performed progressively, allowing the GFB team to accurately gauge the improvements. The modifications to date are aimed at making more power with MRT exhaust components and an ECUTEK tune, stopping is aided by DBA hardware, and handling is improved with a combination of Whiteline and Tein suspension components.

The results speak for themselves with a 1.08:6 lap at Wakefield, a 27:14 pass at the Huntley Hill Climb, and a 1.21 lap at Oran Park.

Sean Falconer's D1NZ Nissan Silvia

New Zealand based Sean Falconer's Nissan Silvia S13 is the most recent addition to the line up of GFB-sponsored drifters.

Sean is 24 years old and has been drifting for three years, his notable results to date being 2nd outright in the 2005 D1NZ National Drifting Championship, and a win in round 3 of the 2006 series. The current standings after round 4 have Sean sitting in 3rd overall. He's even got his own T-shirt! - click on the 'Republic Falconer' emblem below to check it out.

Under the bonnet, Sean's Silvia ain't powered by no CA' or SR'. Oh no, it packs six cylinders, one turbo and 315 hp in the form of an RB20DET conversion, with a GFB Reactor controlling boost and a big GFB SV45 relieving excess pressure.

We're expecting big things from Sean, who has plans to eventually build up a 500 hp S15, and GFB will be backing him all the way!

Protecnica Drifter - Subaru WRX STi RWD

Protecnica Racing's extensively modified STi is a unique choice of drifter. No longer an all-wheel drive, the STi has copped a front-drive removal, which helps to do away with nasty unwanted traction, and make the Subi a more likely drift competitor.

Protecnica use a GFB Stealth FX blow-off valve and light-weight pulley kit to improve throttle response and help keep the turbo on the boil.

The STi has proven to be a strong contender in the Drift Australia series pro class. To date the Protecnica team's best result being 2nd place at Oran Park, with ace driver Rick Bates behind the wheel for the first time.

This 200SX is the result of 2 years of work by Kris Sheather www.200SEX.com.au. Built to compete in dyno and drag comps it stomped out a lazy 473hp at the wheels on 22psi of boost at an Eastern Creek dyno event. This is down from some of its other runs that have peaked at 630-odd hp using race fuel!

Using a pair of GFB Basic blow-off valves to take the punishment, Kris proves that performance comes standard in all GFB products.

1998 Version 4 STi WRX Type RA. Imported from Japan after being used at Macau in the Ericson Cup Series, the car was completely rebuilt to compete in Australia in PR5 class (Group A), and is fitted with a GFB pulley kit and Bovus Maximus blow-off valve.
